I have always just wadded up a bunch of clothes or stuffed my pack under my head at night. The addition of the Animas pillow to my kit has been a great compliment to my sleeping system. I recommend running it a bit lower pressure than full for maximum comfort. Well worth the added (very low) weight to your gear. Stu on Jun 12th 2018
If you're looking for a super small, light weight, easily inflatable, easily deflatable camping pillow you found the perfect one. You can fit this thing in your pocket when deflated and it inflates with just a couple deep breaths.
Awesome product!! Definitely gonna buy again when the time comes. Unknown on Jun 1st 2018
The pillow fits perfectly in a mummy sleeping bag. It is stretchable, soft, super light and packs really small! JH on May 14th 2018
I bought this pillow after the review by Andrew Skurka on his website, as I was in the market for an ultralight pillow. To that end, it fits the bill perfectly. A scant 2 oz! It also inflates and deflates very quickly, and holds the air well. It's comfortable to the touch, and the gripiness that the lettering provides helps it stay in place when the weight of your head is full on it. This is a quality product that performs well, and I am excited to take it on many a trip.
The one star removal is merely for subjective reasons. First, air pillows in themselves aren't very comfortable, and take some getting used to. But that's just something I'll have to get used to on my own, I certainly can't fault Sierra Designs for that. My other, perhaps more important criticism, is that the pillow itself seems designed exclusively for back-sleepers. When I am on my back the pillow fits very well around the contours of my neck. I am a side sleeper, however, and when I turn on my side the pillow doesn't fit near as well. It feels awkward. I make it work by moving my bottom arm to get comfortable, but it's never quite "just right". That said, I bought it more for the weight savings, which it excels at, and I have been sleeping just fine with it even on my side--it still just feels weird. Ian on Apr 18th 2018
•inflates/deflates super fast
•comfortable on the skin
•packs on your bag like a sheet of paper
Too much text on the pillow...but I feel like I’m slicing hairs saying that.
Well done Sierra Designs and Andrew Skurka Eric Elliott on Mar 29th 2018
I've only used this for a quick nap so far, but here are my thoughts. I've been using a similar inflatable pillow for a few months that I enjoyed, but the large size and slippery-ness were a couple of things that annoyed me about it. I wanted to be able to use a pillow inside my mummy bag's hood, but I used the large size because smaller sizes were not thick enough for my taste. Despite this, I decided to try this small pillow. The grip on the bottom is a truly wonderful feature. The valve is similar to others of its type, and seems to work well for quick inflation, deflation, and adjustability. The contours on both sides confused me while looking at the pictures. Now that I have the pillow, I see that it slopes quite a bit. I assume the contours are so that you can use the pillow upside down if you wish, where the taller side can be placed against your neck. As a side sleeper, this is actually what I prefer. I don't know if this is intended since it is not mentioned in the description, but this is how I place to use it. I believe it will be tall enough for me when used this way. Nice work, SD.
