I used this tent for 500 miles on the southern portion of the AT. It is a great tent. It takes a little time to stake out at first, but can be done within a couple of minutes once you get the hang of it. The built in guy line tension devices work really well. They were under a fair amount of stress with significant rain and wind, and they never loosened. The overhangs worked really well when the inside temperature needed to be adjusted for condensation purposes.
The J-shapped zipper on the doors is sometimes not responsive at the angle because there is nothing to hold down the tent directly under the force of pulling the zipper upward. Of course, it is really nice not having anything in the way of entrance and exit, so I didn't mind this issue.
Having the vestibule at the head is great. I am 6 ft. 2 in. tall and in my old tents I had problems crawling in and out because the vestibule was in front of the door. This positioning always created an awkward overhang that I would hit with my head when exiting the tent. This design eliminates that issue.
I absolutely recommend this tent and have no complaints at all, but I do have a couple of comments regarding the size:
1. The two person tent is sized correctly for two people. Many companies have tiny one person tents, so people opt for the two person option even on solo outings. If you are by yourself, you will find the two person tent to be a little big.
2. The "wider ceiling than floor" feature is really nice at the head of the tent, but the roof descends sharply to accommodate the much smaller foot of the tent. So yes, if two people are sitting next to each other, right & left, there is lots of head room. However, if they are sitting head & toe, there is not as much space. This tent essentially takes traditional head room and puts it where it is needed. As a result, if you need to put something at the foot box, you potentially have a tight fit. I did not find this cumbersome at all, but was surprised at how little space was available at the foot.
Definitely a 5-star product. Eric on Aug 27th 2017
