I've never owned a puffy before this one so I can't compare this to others out on the market. I bought this on sale for my Colorado Trail thru-hike in the summer of '17 because of the price, weight and coverage of the jacket. I wanted a puffy with a hood to have coverage when I slept in my sleeping bag/quit. I'm 5'4.5" and 169lbs. I ordered a large and it fit really well. It was snug in the hips but it still worked well for my hike. I like that it's a little longer so it doesn't come up in the back and create an open spot for air to get in and make me cold. I'm 5'8-1/2, 125 lbs, ordered a medium. Plenty of room for a sweater underneath. A beautiful red, much richer, subtler than in the photo. It's going to be perfect this winter for hiking along the coast of California. Light yet very warm, drizzle proof and nice hood for sudden wind. Extra long torso cut provides even more warmth where it counts. Good buy, recommend. Happy trails from Janine at Trailblazer Travel Books. Janine Sprout on Sep 7th 2017
I gave this jacket 4 stars, as it has great features. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it work for me because of the sizing. The small was too short in the arms and a bit too tight(!) in the fitted waist. But the medium was too big all over. & looked sloppy. Data: I'm 5'7", 120 lbs., athletic/dancer build, XS to S on top, pants size S or 4 (Patagonia, Athleta...), long arms. Unknown on Mar 16th 2017
My wife and I both loved this product. We saw in the male version first. More to the point of this is that I also ordered the male version of this jacket and did not receive it. I can only a think that this company over extends it availability to make sure that they sell all they have in stock, no matter what os who loses out on their purchase. My brother and sister in law both have these jackets and my wife and I both loved them so we ordered them and mine never arrived even though when I "checked out" for my purchase the total was for both jackets not just the womens version. You may not have any left but this still leaves a bad taste with me. Why allow me to "check out" with my purchase and not follow through on your end. Thanks for listening. James James R. It's so warm and so light. Also the biggest plus, it fits over my athletic rear end without making the rest of me look boxy. Puffies from other outdoor companies were so tight over my lower half and huge and unflattering over my top half, so excited I found a puffy that fits well! Seattle Bred on Jan 1st 2017
I respectfully disagree with Daniel.
I usually wear a small in jackets and the extra small fits me well. It is a tad form-fitting but there's still enough room for me to wear a base layer and an Icebreaker hoody underneath it. Beth on Dec 14th 2016
The jacket itself seems great, but sizes run small. I really like Sierra Designs gear. I own a Lightning 2 FL tent and a back country bed sleeping bag. When looking for a lightweight warm down jacket for my wife this is the first place I started looking. My wife is on the busty side and even the XL was so tight across the chest as to barely zip up. Would probably of worked in an XXL based on how its cut, but not offered in that size for women. Back to searching. Daniel on Dec 3rd 2015
