    1. Good Performance

Bought it and immediately took it on 7 night pack on the JMT. Very windy at thousand Island lake. Jacket was warm, comfortable, light and packed nicely into its pocket. Seemed like a fair price too. No data on durability but was a champion on its first pack out. on Sep 18th 2018

    2. Lovely fit and feel to it

It was on sale in the summer so I ordered it in June. Clearly I can't yet test how warm it makes me but I can tell the fit, style and quality are great

    3. Backcountry Jacket. Backcountry Pillow

So I used this jacket recently on a 6 day pack trip in southern Utah. I loved it!

It fits great and weighs little.

      The build quality seems superb.

And when packed into its own mesh sleeve (inside the jacket) it double as a great pillow. This is especially great for me as I am a side sleeper in need of a big pillow. I brought and use an inflatable pillow but even this isn't thick enough. What I found is that that pillow combined with this jacket packed in its sleeve proved to be a winning combination for me. Beautiful!

Thank you Sierra Designs for making such quality products at prices I can actually afford.

    4. warmer than expected

      Very happy with this jacket.
Pros - 1) Much warmer than I thought it would be. 2) I am no style king but have been told it looks really nice. 3) the sleeves have a nice internal cuff. 4) Light weight. 5)Comfortable material. 6) fits well (as size chart indicated).
Cons - 1) had to distribute the down filling through the baffles in the arms as it was all in clumps. This took a little time but seems to have worked and is staying in place now. 2) The hood does not close tight around your face so is not the best in windy conditions. I use a clip when needed.
All in all happy with purchase-will have to see how the material holds up over time.

    5. Becoming my favorite

I have a wide selection of cool/cold weather jackets. Bought this two weeks ago and have not stopped wearing it. Packable, light, and warm and bought on sale. 800 fill power down is impressive compared to my primaloft filled garments. I appreciate the deep pockets and roomy hood. on Feb 24th 2018

    6. Great warmth no weight

I purchased this jacket in Black in size XL. I am 5'10" 250 lbs guy and most of my jackets are XL or XXL. this one fits just fine but it would be too tight if I wanted to wear a thick mid layer underneath it, like a fleece sweater. the good part is that I haven't needed to do that since this jacket is very warm. it is very light, it almost feels like you are wearing nothing but don't let that fool you. I have wore this in single digit temps with only a denim shirt underneath and even a t-shirt and it does really well. I like the fact that it has a lining protective lining on the hand holes to protect from cold air coming in. the inside lining is very soft and the hidden chest pocket is great. I haven't tried it yet on wet conditions so I'm not sure how it will perform there, but so far it's been great. The price was good. I highly recommend this jacket for everyday use. on Feb 21st 2018

    7. Light, comfy, and warm!

First, the weight listing here seems to be for a large, at least. My medium weighs 13.75 ounces. This was a pleasant surprise, as I was comparing with a competitor's product at 18 ounces. That one seemed like more of a general purpose alpine jacket with a thick weather resistant shell, and is interesting to compare against the Whitney for outdoor activities in the north Texas/Oklahoma/Arkansas area. I love the softer material and the cuffs that really seal in the warmth. They make such a good interface with my gloves, which I put over the inner cuffs, and then the outer cuffs go over the gloves. The chest pocket is very generously sized, yet covert. It fits my 5.5" phone in a bulky case with plenty of spare room. After completing a recent trip using a puffy without inner pockets, I really wished I had them, and look forward to making use of this one for keeping water filters and canisters warm. The hood is a bit loose compared to my other one, but I see myself mostly using this for camp and for sleeping, and think it will work fine. The extra length in back is very appreciated. Also, I've found myself using this casually around town much more than I expected it. I really enjoy the Black/Solar "Dracula" color scheme I chose. on Feb 19th 2018

    8. Warm, packable, fragile.

Picked this up before a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon in January 2018. Jacket kept me plenty warm on it's own in temps down to the 20's and kept my nice and toasty over a fleece in temps in the teens.

This jacket IS NOT very durable, however... I grazed a tree branch on a narrow trail and ripped one of the baffles... had the jacket fared better in the field, I'd give it five stars.

    9. So poof, such warmth!

Excellent "under-shell" layer. Love the lightweight feel and excellent warmth. The deep wrist huggers accommodate big mittens very well. A+ on Nov 30th 2017

    10. Whitney dridown

Awesome jacket, repels water only problem was I got some grease on the cuff and haven’t been able to get it out, other then that supe comfotable, I’m 6’2 210 and got the xxl fits good with a little space (I have long arms and broad shoulders) on Nov 23rd 2017
