I'm a size Small in every piece of clothing I own. Some are tighter than others, but at 5'6" with a 37" chest and 28" waist, I'm swimming in most Mediums. So I double-checked the sizing chart to make sure of the fit. Well, suffice to say SD has some work to do in making sure their product descriptions (and sizing) correspond to the actual product. I could barely zip this thing up, and it was so tight across the hips, I would have had a hard time sitting down if I had tried.
The quality and styling looks great, so I'm really bummed they can't get the sizing right... Oh well, I'll update this after I see how the Medium fits... -Lou on Feb 10th 2017
I purchased a medium sweater from my son. It looks great and great workmanship. I have one problem, the size. His chest size is just 38" and using the sizing chart that put him at a medium. I know evey body is different so using one measurement for sizing is tough. Oh well, I am attempting to exchange for size. He really can't wait to use the sweater. Will post an update once we get the right size... Update: The exchange went flawlessly and my son's a large. He loves the sweater. He is out in Pittsburgh and been pretty much wearing everyday from Sept to December and loves it. Keeps him plenty warm. He has mentioned some of the down poking out. He tried to "push" them back in without luck. The exterior is holding up well. Ed on Jan 24th 2016
This Sierra Designs DriDown Sweater Jacket is a favorite of mine! With Sierra Designs using DriDown for this sweater jacket, even if this sweater jacket gets somewhat wet, it still keep you warm unlike regular down. That is huge! As always Sierra Designs has kept it real with their craftsmanship of this sweater jacket, materials used and functionality. It is a fitted fit which I like as I use this under my hard shells. This Sierra Designs DriDown Sweater Jacket has thumb holes so what I have done is use them and throw on gloves and you have complete protection from the elements! This Sierra Designs DriDown Sweater Jacket barely weighs anything, packs up small and comes in a few different colors. Granted, with any down garment you have to expect it to leak out down, so that is the only pain in the ass thing I have had with this Sierra Designs DriDown Sweater Jacket. The price is below what the Outdoor Research Filament jacket I recent reviewed is, so I say go get you this Sierra Designs DriDown Sweater Jacket if you want a great down insulation jacket for backpacking or even around town. This is not a super puffy jacket, so keep in mind this is a mid sized on the warmth it can give you. But it was dramatically warmer then the Outdoor Research Filiment. I love this product! Light, compact, fairly warm. It will be with me on all my trips. I am 6'2", 200 lbs XL is just right for me to layer either over or under Rick on Sep 13th 2015
Great light weight insulation layer. The thumb holes are great feature and don't detract from the look. The material is fairly soft and appears durable. I have the dridown hoody as well. Both are great options. Jason on Sep 3rd 2015
Great light sweater jacket. fit is spot on and Dri Down is a definite plus as i will mostly be using this camping backpacking and kayaking. it packs down small enough to stuff in my kayak hatch and store there for when i need it after stopping or when setting up camp Jim on Jun 15th 2015
