The design of this quilt is outstanding and I really enjoy using it. My only complaint is I wish it was just a tad longer. I'm 6'3 and weigh 250lbs and when I use the head pocket it is tight and pulls my head down. Other than that it's great. Jim on Nov 24th 2016
I bought this quilt in response to my 2015 hike of the OR/NorCal PCT. My 20 degree down bag was way overkill, both in terms of warmth and insulation type, so I started shopping around for a light synthetic blanket/quilt, and this quilt fit my criteria. So far I've only used this quilt near my home in Central CA, where nighttime temps range in the 40's this time of year. It has performed well in those temps. The materials of this quilt are not necessarily top-shelf (to my knowledge there are lighter fabrics and warmer synthetic fibers available), but the design is great. I love the face-pocket and the hand pockets. They really work nicely, and obviate the need for a zipper. Just a really well thought out design. Also, this quilt is pretty cheap, so that's a big plus. I am 6', 172 lbs and the quilt drapes nicely over my head. I would imagine if you combined this quilt with a down hoodie and some nice wool underwear, you could extend the temperature range of the quilt considerably. Max on Oct 20th 2015
It's like having a blanket that's just not quite big enough. I spent two nights on the Chattooga River in June with my Backcountry Quilt; one night in a tent, the other in a hammock. The nights were in the high 50's, low 60's and I was warm but I just didn't have enough quilt to wrap around me. I was constantly having to shift my body to pull enough material around me and once there, I found myself wishing I had a zipper to keep it closed. I am 5'10 & 175lbs and far from a large guy. The foot box kept my toes warm and the hand pockets came in handy while struggling to keep myself wrapped up. All in all, the Backcountry quilt served it's purpose. It was warm, but allowed me the freedom of blanket. It would have been perfect with enough material to wrap myself up in. Frank on Jun 7th 2015
