http://www.cdtrail.org

The Continental Divide Trail Alliance (CDTA) was formed in 1995 to assist the federal land management agencies in the completion, management and protection of the trail. The CDTA is a non-profit organization with nearly 3,000 members working to increase public involvement, volunteer commitment and private sector support on the CDT. To date, this grassroots movement has made a tremendous impact on the Trail. Nearly 7,000 volunteers have dedicated more than $3.1 million of labor and individuals, foundations and businesses have committed more than $14 million toward the efforts and 1,275 miles of the CDT has been completed. To acknowledge the significant role of the CDTA, the Chief of the Forest Service and Directors of the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service recognized the CDTA as the leading non-governmental partner in the completion of the CDT in 1999 at a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony in Washington, DC. Since it was founded in 1995, the CDTA has taken monumental steps toward the trail's completion. The CDTA works to maintain and protect this unique national landmark for people, wildlife and the environment. The most notable accomplishments include the following: Volunteer projects, CDTA Youth Corps, Adopt-A-Trail, Explorer's Program, Public Education and Awareness, Advocacy and Fundraising among others.
